You may just want a first walk.

What this Journey is

First Walk is a guided introduction to MNKY Math.

It is designed for new visitors who want to understand what MNKY Math is, how the site is organized, and how the thinking begins to work.

This Journey does not show you everything.

It gives you enough to begin.

Why this Journey exists

MNKY Math explores the hidden relationships between systems, behavior, and outcomes.

That kind of thinking can be entered from many directions. A workplace example. A consumer pattern. A metric. A phrase. A definition. A story. A question that will not leave you alone.

The garden structure allows those ideas to connect.

But before you wander, it helps to know what kind of place you are in.

This Journey gives you a simple path through the first ideas, pages, and orientation points that help MNKY Math make sense.

How to use this Journey

Use the Journey card below to move from one stop to the next.

Each stop introduces part of MNKY Math’s thinking or part of the garden itself.

You do not need to read quickly.

You do not need to understand everything the first time through.

Just keep noticing what the pages ask you to see.

Staying on the path

MNKY Math pages include links to related ideas, definitions, articles, and neighboring concepts.

If a link catches your attention, you can use the preview feature to look at that page without leaving the current stop. This lets you look sideways without losing the path forward.

What to notice

What behavior is the system teaching?

What outcome is being mistaken for a metric?

What is being optimized, and what is being ignored?

Where does agency increase?

Where does agency disappear?

These are not questions you need to answer all at once.

They are lenses.
