What Belongs in MNKY Math
MNKY Math is an authored body of work.
But it is not a closed one.
Useful ways of seeing systems already exist across disciplines, professions, organizations, communities, and lived experience. Some are formal frameworks. Others are practical tools, recurring questions, local adaptations, or observations that have never been given a name.
MNKY Math can become a connected home for work that helps people:
- see systems more clearly
- interpret what systems are producing
- diagnose patterns, conditions, and behavior
- participate more deliberately
- design with greater awareness of consequences and tradeoffs
Not everything connected to MNKY Math needs to originate here.
What matters is whether it helps strengthen, challenge, clarify, or extend the thinking — and whether its source is acknowledged with care.
What you might bring
A Tool
A diagnostic, guide, scorecard, map, worksheet, question set, facilitation practice, or other method that helps people examine or work with systems.
It may be something you created.
It may also be something you already use that belongs to another practitioner, discipline, or body of work.
A Foundation
A concept, distinction, principle, definition, or way of explaining something that could strengthen the underlying framework.
This might reveal something MNKY Math is missing, oversimplifying, or naming poorly.
A Neighbor
A thinker, theory, field, framework, practice, publication, or established body of work that belongs in The Neighborhood.
A Neighbor does not need to agree with MNKY Math.
Similarity, contrast, tension, and disagreement can all make a connection useful.
A Study
A real situation, system observation, worked example, field application, unresolved case, or result that helps test the thinking against lived systems.
A Study does not need to present a clean answer.
Sometimes the value is in making the situation easier to see.
A Question or Pattern
A question that keeps returning.
A behavior that seems reasonable only from inside the system.
A contradiction between what a system says and what it produces.
A pattern you can see but cannot yet explain.
These may become future essays, definitions, Tools, Studies, or connections elsewhere in the garden.
Attribution matters
Sharing an idea does not require claiming ownership of it.
When something comes from another person, organization, publication, discipline, or established practice, MNKY Math will identify and link to that source wherever possible.
The goal is not to absorb someone else’s work into MNKY Math.
The goal is to:
- acknowledge where the thinking came from
- describe why it is relevant
- connect readers to the original work
- make its relationship to MNKY Math visible
- distinguish established thinking from MNKY Math interpretation or adaptation
A connection may show alignment.
It may also show where the ideas differ.
Both are useful.
What sharing does — and does not — mean
Sharing something does not guarantee that it will be added, published, or adopted.
MNKY Math is a curated garden, not an unrestricted collection.
A contribution may:
- lead to a new page
- strengthen an existing page
- become a related link
- surface in a future Study or Discussion Synthesis
- reveal a connection that needs more investigation
- remain an open question
The purpose is not to collect everything.
The purpose is to make the body of work more useful, connected, and honest about the thinking that informs it.
Share what you see
A gap.
A pattern.
A question.
A useful adaptation.
A Tool you already use that helps you see the system.
A thinker or body of work MNKY Math should know.
A real situation that could help test the framework.
Help the garden evolve — share what you noticed with MNKY Math.
