Denial

Denial is the refusal or inability to acknowledge a condition, pattern, tradeoff, risk, or contradiction that is already affecting the system.

In MNKY Math, denial matters because ignored conditions do not stop shaping behavior.

They move.

They may become pressure, confusion, blame, workarounds, moral exhaustion, compliance theater, or hidden cost elsewhere in the system.

Denial is one-sided.

It may serve the person, role, or layer of the system doing the denying.

But it rarely serves the people who must continue participating inside what has been denied.

Denial does not remove the condition.

It only changes who has to carry it.
